About Paul Hole
My career in Hospitality and Catering began in May 1984, when I took a job as a kitchen porter at a seaside hotel in Salcombe, Devon. When the hotel closed at the end of the season I enrolled on a City and Guilds course in food and beverage service and Wine and Spirits Education Trust certificate. I spent most of the next five years working in holiday resorts on the South Coast during the summer, and attending training courses in the winter. In the early 90’s I started to train as a chef at a hotel in Bath, including a self-funded Intermediate Food Hygiene (level 3). Over the years I have attended and passed many courses, see below.
After leaving Bath I spent six years working for the NHS as a Catering Supervisor, initially in retail, and distributing cook chill food to the wards. After two years of this, I moved on to a cook chill production unit, including leading a small team, collating menus, inspecting kitchens and assisting patients and staff with menu choices.
During my time at the hospital I undertook NVQ 2 cookery which I funded myself.
On leaving the NHS I became a relief chef working for agencies and local businesses, in the contract catering, care industries and hospitality. This allowed me to develop some other interests including catering equipment sales, event catering and a hospitality consultancy
